Listen up all you chumps: I've had it up to here with all this self-loathing, ambiguously-directed, thesaurus-aided psuedo-psycho-babble. If you feel the need to put words out into the world for public consumption, at least have the common decency to aim it and claim it. No more open letters to be misconstrued. No more airing private matters without the consent of everyone involved. No more using outrageous language and obscure references to make simple points. Self expression and creativity do not need to be reduced to competition. Just chill out and say what you mean directly to who you want to hear it. It's easy, watch and learn:

Sam: I told you that in confidence. If I wanted all of them to know, I would have told them. Of all the girls, I thought I could trust you with the big shit. Please, don't prove me completely wrong.

Nichole: If you want to tell something, just spit it out. Your metaphors make no sense to me... if anything, they just make things sound comical instead of serious. I'm more than willing to help you through the tough stuff, but if I have no idea what's happening, I don't know what to say or do.

Travis: No offense buddy, but I know you don't know what half of those words mean. Poetry doesn't have to require a dictionary to be worth reading. I love to hear you talk, but your writing misrepresents your talent. Be true to yourself... the rest will follow.

Seth: It seems that you're tip-toeing around me. If you want to establish rapport again, I'm up for it. Maybe I'm simply misreading the situation, but sending me that picture out of the blue doesn't seem like your m.o. I'll give you my digits if you want to call and you obviously know my email address. Despite how it may appear, I do enjoy hearing from you. You were my best friend for a long time. Times passes and things change, but I still care about you and wish you all the best. Look at me, I'm rambling off things I've said a million times before. You know the drill.

Stella: I know for a fact things aren't that bad. A few weeks ago I saw your sister and she said you were just being dramatic. Stop stressing and enjoy the good stuff before it really does slip away.

Yipes, it's late and I need sleep.

G'night all.

Katie Jo
